Special Interest Group RELINDIAL in IFLA

I am very happy to make the announcement that the new SIG (Special Interest Group) RELINDIAL, group of libraries containing funds for dialogue between religions and cultures, has just been approved by the Governing Board of IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions). This project will bring the theological libraries in a worldwide association from which they were missing. Supported by the Catholic University of Paris, and especially by Mgr François Bousquet, member of the International Commission for Peace Research from the UNESCO, RELINDIAL can now grow up.

The Book of Henryków digitalised

From 9 February 2010 the famous Book of Henryków can be read fully digitalised at FIDES Digital Library. It is written in 1268-1273. Currently the book is held in the Diocesan Museum in Wrocław.

FIDES Digital Library in Europeana

From 11th December 2009 resources of tenths of Polish digital libraries participating in the the PIONIER Network Digital Libraries Federation are available in European Digital Library – Europeana. These resources include over 250 000 digital objects made available by the hundreds of cultural and scientific institutions from different regions of Poland, some church libraries including. Among them are treasures of Polish national heritage, as well as interesting regional materials or modern scientific and educational publications. From the FIDES Digital Library comes 684 objects: about 600 full text articles and journals, 60 books, 13 old prints and incunabula (e.g. Mercator's Atlas Minor) and 3 theses. We are continuosly adding new object to our digital library.
